Percent for Good’s Cause Portfolios each comprise several carefully curated and high-impact charities that have been selected according to the organisation’s stringent criteria. Each charity has demonstrated strong governance and a compelling vision and maintains effective strategic partnerships.
The Social Mobility Cause Portfolio
The charities that make up the Social Mobility Cause Portfolio aim to help disadvantaged people across the UK get on the first – or next – rung of the ladder. These charities are the anti-slavery charity Unseen, Smartworks, which helps marginalised women build confidence and gain employment, and Ark Resettlement Services, which is committed to reducing reoffending across London by housing and supporting ex-offenders. Also included in this Cause Portfolio is the crime prevention charity Key4Life and upReach, which partners with universities and employers to help students develop employability skills and develop invaluable experiences and networks.
The Nature and Environment Cause Portfolio
Percent for Good’s Nature and Environment Cause Portfolio incorporates five charities dedicated to restoring, regenerating and rewilding woodlands, rivers and coastlines and improving biodiversity. These charities are Surfers Against Sewage, Bumblebee Conservation Trust, The Conservation Volunteers, Rewilding Britain and The Rivers Trust.
The Women and Girls Cause Portfolio
The charities Pregnant Then Screwed, Rosa Fund, Wellbeing of Women, Girls Are Investors and The Girls Network comprise the Women and Girls Cause Portfolio curated by Percent for Good (founded by Mark Lyttleton). All of these charities aim to challenge inequality, create opportunities and improve outcomes for women and girls. For example, The Girls Network supports girls from disadvantaged communities through mentoring, skills development, opportunities and an ambassador network.
The Health and Wellbeing Cause Portfolio
The five charities comprising the Health and Wellbeing Cause Portfolio support physical and mental health for people across the UK. These are CALM, Safelives, Reengage, Grief Encounter and Sport In Mind. The latter uses exercise and sport to improve the lives of anyone who may be experiencing mental health difficulties, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, mobility or ability.
The Education and Arts Cause Portfolio
Bookmark, Create Arts, Art Against Knives and Moneyready are four of the charities selected by Percent for Good for inclusion in the Education and Arts Cause Portfolio. Also included is The Music in Secondary Schools Trust, which works with schools in some of the UK’s most disadvantaged communities to provide training and instruments and has helped more than 22,000 students to date.
The Cost of Living Crisis Cause Portfolio
The Cost of Living Crisis Cause Portfolio is made up of five forward-thinking charities that help people across the UK cope with the effects of the rising cost of living. These charities are FoodCycle, Little Village, Hope Into Action, The Childhood Trust and The Magic Breakfast, which currently provides 200,000 healthy, free breakfasts daily to children across England and Scotland.
